George Orville Clough

May 7, 1922 ~ May 21, 2018 (age 96)

George Orville Clough peacefully passed away Monday afternoon, the 21st of May 2018, surrounded by his family. In his 96 years he lived a full life working closely with his father in the trucking business, serving his country in WWII aboard the USS Marcus Island as an Aviation First Machinist, and then returned home to be an incredible and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He spent his time at his "little piece of heaven" at Eagle Lake, backpacked and fished with his family and friends, and tied flies.

He is survived by his wife, Jean, his sons and their wives David and Teresa, Mark and Tammera, as well as his grandchildren Sara, Will, Aaron, Kyle, and Jeremy Barkley, his niece Louise, and great-grandchildren.

His family is eternally grateful for the caregivers and Hospice of Santa Cruz who made his life as comfortable as possible during the final days. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of Santa Cruz. His family will be having a private gathering to say their final goodbyes, but will be holding a celebration of his life this summer. Mehl's Colonial Chapel was entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
