Alberto M. Silva passed away on March 20, 2021. He was 92. Alberto was born on June 8, 1928 to Manuel V. Silva and Maria S. Regalo in St. George, Azores. At a young age, he worked as a dairy farmer in the Azores. In 1959, Alberto married Silvina Bettencourt before coming to work at a dairy farm in the Central Valley, California. In 1973, he started working at The George Bassi Co., a manufacturer of bins boxes and pallets, in Watsonville, for 20 years. Alberto was a self-suﬃcient farmer, grower, and even made his own distilled spirits and wine. He was known for being a hard worker, and even created his own household tools and trained his cousin’s Rottweiler. He was a man known to stay true to his values.
Alberto is survived by his wife Silvina Silva, his siblings; Joe Avelar, Luis Silva, and Judy Silva, and his sons; Adelino and Tony Silva. A (limited) visitation will be held on April 13, 2021 from 10am-12pm at Mehl's Colonial Chapel. A (limited), outdoor rosary and mass will be held at 12:30 pm at Valley Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
