Carlos Diaz

November 25, 2021 ~ November 27, 2021

It is great sadness we announce the passing of my beloved son, Carlos Diaz (Juan Carlos Diaz). Carlos was born on November 25, 1996. Carlos had just turned 25 years old when was stuck by a vehicle as he was on his way to his grandparents’ house. He was killed in a hit and run accident on Saturday, November 27, 2021 a day before his birthday celebration with his mother and his younger brother. He leaves behind his Mother, Gabby Santivañez (Gabriela Sofia Santivañez) and his younger brother Ojani Calderon, 12 and countless other friends and extended family.

Many described him as a beautiful sweet soul, a good person, sweet, kind, friendly and funny. Growing up, Carlos was a member of Green Valley Christian Church where he attended school Kindergarten and all through Junior High. He was active in his community. He was a member of Royal Rangers (group similar to Boys Scouts just founded in Christian principals). Carlos attended church weekly and participated in a variety of Christian youth groups where he did most of his community service helping those less fortunate locally in his community and in Mexico. Carlos enjoyed playing sports in his younger years and was the star quarterback in his freshman year at Watsonville High School. Those were some his greatest times in High school. Carlos was a natural at sports he played lacrosse, baseball, soccer, football and golf. He had natural born artistic skills. He loved cars as well and riding his bike around town. One of Carlos favorite hobbies was fishing. He often retreated to fishing when he needed to clear his mind. Carlos will be missed by many but most by his mom. He was and will continue to be his mother’s inspiration for her career helping others.

The family is requesting pictures, sweet stories to be sent to these will be collected and put into a memory book for his younger siblings as they heal the loss of our beloved Carlos.
