Chukie Sam Martinez

January 6, 1951 ~ February 7, 2022 (age 71)


Chukie Sam Martinez passed away at Watsonville Hospital on Feb. 7, 2022, due to COVID. He was 71. Chukie enjoyed listening to his music especially Elvis. He loved spending time with family, friends, and his life-long buddy Chiquita. Chukie liked going to concerts and WWF Wrestling. He was a coin-collector, and also worked for Goodwill making wood clog shoes. Chukie was a very loving son, brother and uncle. He liked to help whoever he could and making new friends. He will be missed very much.

Chukie is reunited with his mother Ruth Nina Jimenez and his life-long buddy Chiquita. He is survived by his sister Debra Espinoza, brother Ricky Rodriguez, nephew; Albert L. Martinez, nieces; Yolanda M. Espinoza, and Erica Rodriguez  great-nieces and nephew; Alyassa and Maranda Cabanlit, Sierra Guzman, Jenaya Torres, Albert X. Martinez, 3 great-great nieces, 2 god children; Janelle Castillo Lockhart, Stephanie Araiza, numerous aunt, uncles, and cousins in California and Arizona. Chukie will be layed to rest with his mother and grandfather in Yuma, Arizona.

A celebration of life will be held on March 5, 2022 from 1-4 pm at the Senior Living Park at 601 Bronte Ave. and Esther Way.
