Dolores Maria Acosta Rangel, beloved Mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother died peacefully at 10:40pm on May 13, 2021 at her home. She was 80 years old.
Dolores was born on April 1, 1941 in San Agustin Del Maiz, Michoacan, Mexico, to parents Edwvijes Acosta Chaves and Consuelo Rangel Villasenor. Her favorite activities including cooking (she made awesome tortillas and the best mole con pollo), gardening, listening to Mariachi music, dancing, and being around her loved ones enjoying life. Dolores worked in a variety of areas, from a farm laborer, cannery worker to a fast-food truck owner/vendor.
She is survived by her children; Francisca S. Olivarez, Maricruz Carlos, Norma Nohrden, Veronica Paniagua, and Ricardo Magaña, and her siblings; (and their spouses), Margarita Acosta, Crispin & Guadalupe Acosta, Ponciano & Josefina Acosta, Catalina Acosta Martinez, Efrain Acosta & Silvia Madrigal, Irma Acosta Diaz, and Eulogio Diaz. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren; Eddie Carlos, Melissa Carlos, Israel Carlos, Jr., Gerardo Antonio Olivarez, Jessica Andrea Olivarez, Jacqulynn Alyse Olivarez, Jocelyn Alessandra Olivarez, Norian Valencia, Richard Nohrden, Cooper Nohrden, Silviano Paniagua, Richard Paniagua, Alia Paniagua, Christian Magaña, Richard Dane Hassemer, Monica Hassemer, and Niya Hassemer, as well as 7 great-grandchildren; Daphne Carlos, Phoebe Carlos, Benjamin Ceja, Roberto Ceja, Noah Hassemer, Grace Hassemer, and Jonah Hassemer.
Services will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel, 222 East Lake Avenue, on June 1st, 2021, with viewing from 5-9pm, and Rosary starting at 7pm. Funeral mass at will be at St. Patrick’s Church on June 2nd, 2021 at 10am with burial ceremony to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
