Dominador Rinopa Nuval, a longtime resident of Watsonville, died on August 29, 2021. Mr. Nuval was born in Luna Union, Philippines on September 15, 1939, to parents Juan Nuval and Rupina Rinopa. He was 80 years old.
Mr. Nuval came to the United States, along with his family, for a better life in 1978. He started working in the strawberry fields and eventually went on to become a cook at the Seascape Resort in Aptos, and The Chaminade in Santa Cruz from where he eventually retired. Mr. Nuval was a master fisherman, a proud father to his children, adored his grandkids, and loved his wife, family and friends.
Mr. Nuval is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Saturnina Nuval, his children; Nolie Nuval, Melba de Jong, and Almira Nuval, and 2 grandchildren; Aiden and Makaylah de Jong.
Services will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Saturday, September 4, 2021, from 1pm to 3pm.
