Emily Velasquez died suddenly in Watsonville on July 6, 2021. She was 88. Emily was born May 30, 1933 in Texas to Luis Fuentes and Isabel Renteria. She was a homemaker and was also very active in bowling, darts, puzzles, playing dominos and cards with family, and listening to Mexican music. Emily liked watching the S.F Giants and attending her grandkids sporting events. She loved cooking, especially for her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Clara, Frank, and Steven, and son; David. She survived by her siblings; Robert (Lilly) Delfina, Margaret, Luis (Linda), Nick (Martha), and Juan (Michelle), as well as her children; Sarah (Cesar) Jesse, Sally, Daniel (Ventura), Raymond (Kathy), Henrieta (Mel), Mary Louise (Helder), and Beatrice (John), and by numerous grand and great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Tues. July 20th from 5-9 pm, with a Rosary to be held at 7pm. Mass will be Wed. July 21st at 10 am at St. Patrick’s Church. Burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
