Faran Sanchez, 55 passed away unexpectedly on September 11, 2021, while on vacation with his good friends in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Faran’s joy was spending time with his family on trips to fairs, holiday events, and having weekly lunches. You could always find him in the audience proudly applauding at his granddaughters’ sport or dance events. He also enjoyed traveling, going to car shows, or exploring new places with his friends. Faran attended Twin Lakes Church and was a frequent volunteer at different events the church held, one being the Wednesday night dinners where you could find him serving meals in his Sunday best. Faran worked for Santa Cruz County for more than 20 years and regarded his co-workers as his work family.
Faran is survived by his daughter Venissa (Omar), son Joseph (Natalie), 3 beautiful granddaughters, partner of 31 years Nancy, a goddaughter, his mother Maria Sanchez, and brother Domingo. He was preceded in death by his father Domingo (2001) and 2 brothers Michael (2009) and Daniel Sanchez (1996).
Faran’s quiet smile, playful laugh, and patience are just a few of his qualities that made him a great kind-hearted person who will be missed immensely.
A visitation/prayer service will be held from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm on October 14, 2021, at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel at 222 E. Lake Avenue. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church at 2401 E. Lake Avenue.
