Fernando Velez VII was born July 4th, 1962, in San Jose and died unexpectedly on September 12th, 2021, in Watsonville. Fernando was the son of Fernando Velez VI and Sandra Kimbrough, he was the eldest of six children.
Family was his true passion in life, Fernando was amazing at and truly loved being a father and grandfather. He also had a passion for music and the arts. He was a sound technician for the LowRider Band for over ten years. Fernando lived with the constant pursuit of happiness. This lifestyle along with a love for The Beatles and Prince brought him pure joy. That joy was passed onto his children and through them, he will live on always. He will be missed dearly.
He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Rosemary Velez, with whom he shared five children, Fernando Velez VIII, Sandra Monique Borba, John Lennon Velez, Veronikka Zenaida Velez, and Daniel Zapata Velez. He also leaves behind five grandchildren.
Viewing will be on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel 222 E. Lake Avenue from 5pm-9pm, rosary starting at 7pm. Funeral mass will be on Thursday, Sept. 23 at Valley Catholic Church 2445 E. Lake Avenue at 10am, burial immediately to follow at Valley Public Cemetery. Reception will be at the Watsonville Women's Club 12 Brennan Street following burial.
