Obituary

Gilbert G. Casares died Tuesday March 9, 2021. He was 81. He was a native of Moorhead, MI.

He was the owner & operator of L & G detail for 39 years. Gilbert built his oldie ‘54 twice, he was most proud of his Oldie ‘54. He was so proud of winning Bomb Truck of The Year in 2005 & Truck of The Year in 2006. He was known as the Champ & Legend to many. He was an avid 49er fan and he loved helping his family and his friends.

Mr. Casares is survived by his long-time partner Evie R. Ontiveros, and his children; Laura, Rosann, Raquel, Gilbert “Gino” Casares. He also leaves behind his sisters Lilly Gonzales and Dela Clendenin, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose D. and Juana G. Casares and his siblings; Johnny, Benjamin, Joe, Lou Casares, and Trini Henriquez.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM March 24, 2021 at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Valley Public Cemetery. Mehl’s Colonial Chapel has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
