Jose “Tuna” Ruelas passed away on January 6, 2021. He was 47. Jose was born on February 20, 1973 to Martin and Irene Ruelas in Watsonville, California. Jose “Tuna” Ruelas was a resident of Madera, Ca. He was born and raised in Watsonville Ca. Jose worked several years as a journeyman painter. He loved to work with his hands and build his partner furniture. He also loved to spend quality time with his children and his grandchildren. He would bring the family together over a warm meal he cooked. His family will remember Jose by his smile and laughter that was contagious. The human jukebox shinned everyday even when he was out fishing. We encourage all of his loved ones to play a song, have a Sunday morning Menudo, or argue during a Raider game in his memory.
Jose is survived by his parents, his fiancé Patricia Castro (of 10 years), 6 children; Anthony Ruelas, Ashley Ruelas, Ivan Ruelas, Isaiah Ruelas, Isaac Ruelas, and Joseph Ruelas, siblings; Andrew Garcia, Leonard Ayala, Debra Liverman, Lisa Stricklin, Gavin Albert, Gaylord Albert, Mark and Paula Figueroa, Pio and Maida Ruelas, Maria and Ruben Bello, and 3 grandchildren; Cianni Ruelas, Leonni Ruelas, and Axel Ruelas.
