Linda Louise (Maitoza) Gordon passed away on March 5, 2021, at the age of 74. Linda was born in Watsonville, California on March 4, 1947, to Elwyn “Sam” Maitoza and Nelda Lorraine Ferriera.
Linda attended Moreland Notre Dame & Mora High School and Wayne’s College of Beauty. She met and married Ron and made their home in Watsonville. Before becoming a mother, she was a stylist at the Resetar Hotel. She and Ron were married 52 years and had three daughters. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, quilting, and watching her grandchildren grow.
Devoted wife and mother, she loved her garden and attending to their apple orchard of which had varieties of apples. Linda was an avid lover of animals and she often found herself the caregiver for stray animals that landed on her doorstep. She was the historian of the family with a deep history of Watsonville and the surrounding families. She loved to pass down recipes, bake sweets for the grandkids, neighbors, and friends. Her family will miss her “tacos”, Portuguese Filhos, and beloved Biscotti.
She is survived by her husband Ron Gordon, children; Kristy (Peter) Bobeda, Abbie Silva, Jaimee (Robert) MacFarlane, grandchildren; Hunter and Grant Bobeda, Josh and Julianne Silva, Stella and Margot MacFarlane, and sister Carol Brown of Fresno, along with numerous nieces & nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Santa Cruz SPCA 2601 Chanticleer Ave., Santa Cruz, CA 95065, Pajaro Valley Historical Association 332 E. Beach Street, Watsonville, CA 95076, and Hospice of Santa Cruz County 940 Disc Dr., Scotts Valley, CA 95066.
Services at St. Patrick’s Parish located at 721 Main Street, Watsonville CA 95076.
Rosary on March 19, 2021, at 10:30 am followed by Mass at 11:00 am. A private burial will take place at a later date. Mehl’s Colonial Chapel is entrusted with the arrangements.
