Obituary

Loa “May” Root died peacefully on September 11, 2021, in Santa Cruz. She was 82. May was born in Riverside, CA. on July 10, 1939.

May was best known for her vibrant and outspoken personality, strong spirit, and passion for painting and playing cards. May was a hard-working woman devoted t other family and friends. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandma, and great grandma. The Root family loved her dearly and will cherish her memory.

May is survived by her daughters, Natalie Serrano, Wendy Root, and Donna Casey, her sons, Bobby R.K. Walter Root, Jr., and Michael Root, and her brother, Robert Hoskins. She also leaves eleven grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bobby R.K. Walter Root, Sr., her daughter, Sandy Keldsen, and her brothers, Micky, Gary, and Ross.

Viewing will be on Monday, September 27, 2021, from 9am to 12:30pm at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel 222 E. Lake Avenue, Watsonville. Burial to follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park 127 Hecker Pass Road, Watsonville.
