Ramona (Rubalcava) Bobeda

August 31, 1932 ~ October 15, 2021 (age 89)

Beloved mother and wife, Ramona Bobeda, has gone home to her Lord Jesus on October 15, 2021. Ramona Rubalcava was born in Hanford, CA. on August 31, 1932.

She lived in a small house on Ivy Street with her parents and 8 siblings. She met and married Lupe G. Alcala, moved to San Jose and in 25 years of marriage went on to have five children, Patricia Ann Verzosa, Richard Alcala, Anthony Alcala, Diane Steverson, and Marie Alcala. Her family was soon moved to Prunedale and finally to Watsonville where she lived the rest of her days.

Ramona found a second chance at love with her beloved husband Mike Bobeda. They were married July 5, 1997. They remained happily married until the very end. Mike devoted his love for her with great care and support during her final years.

Ramona was a woman with beautiful green eyes that held so much love for her children, her husband, her brothers and sisters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved gathering as a family, holding celebrations, and planning picnics. She loved the outdoors, the beach, the woods, going to Big Basin, Point Lobos, Yosemite, and Mt. Madonna. She was creative and taught us children to enjoy making creative things. She was also a hard worker, from working in the fields as a child, the cannery, to being a Bilingual Teacher’s Aide all the while raising 5 children. She taught us the importance of faith in God and the power of prayer, since she was a prayer warrior, praying faithfully for her loved ones. For us who loved her, we were blessed to know her and can only find comfort knowing she is with her Savior with no more pain or sorrow. We will forever be grateful for the love and sacrifice she had made, always striving to be the best Mom and wife she could be.

Viewing will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel 222 E. Lake Avenue on October 27 from 5pm to 8pm. Burial will take place at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park 127 Hecker Pass Road on October 28 at 1pm.
