Ramona Cardon of San Jose, CA, peacefully passed away on May 13, 2021, after a long battle with Lupus. She was born on November 21, 1968, in Santa Clara, CA. As an infant, she was welcomed into the Cardon family and formally adopted on May 7, 1976.
Ramona attended local schools and graduated from Watsonville High School in 1986. Growing up in Watsonville she participated in 4-H, band, and church activities. She attended Cabrillo College and Fresno City College. She worked in the medical field until her Lupus prevented her from working.
She was proud of her Cherokee heritage and was active in Native American causes. She loved children, especially her nieces and nephews. She loved all animals, especially her cats.
Ramona is survived by her parents, Larry and Corrie Cardon, brothers Ed (Linda) Cardon, David (Andrea) Cardon, Joseph Cardon, and Nathaniel Cardon, along with sister Barbara (Mark) Brown. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Of special mention are her biological sisters Bambi and Cheri, and father Raymond Morales. The family thanks the numerous medical professionals at Kaiser Santa Teresa and her home health care workers for their support.
Vigil and rosary service will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 at 7:00 pm. Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church on Thursday, May 27th, 2021 at 11:00 am. Donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation (lupus.org), the Cherokee Nation Foundation (cherokeenationfoundation.org), or the SPCA.
