Ricardo Regalado Moreno, born in Coalcoman, Michoacan, Mexico, on October 27, 1934, to parents Isabel and Imelda Moreno, died on April 16, 2022. He was 87.
Ricardo was a strawberry grower for over 40 years and a member of the Watsonville Berry-Co-op. He was a quiet, honorable, generous, and faithful man, always ready to help. A humble man that believed in paying it forward. He valued his friendships with people that he met decades ago as well as new friends he met later in life.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Enriqueta Y. Moreno, daughters, Alice M. Peña, Berta M. Jackson, Teresa M. Bowdoin, and Delia M. Alvarez, and his sisters, Clementina Magana, Eva Espinoza, Herlinda Reyes, Dolores Magana, Estella Castillo, and Elvia Parra. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sons, Ricardo, Jr., and George Moreno, and his brothers, Antonio, Jose, J. Isabel “Chavelo”, and Jorge Moreno.
Viewing will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel 222 E. Lake Avenue, on Thursday May 12 from 5pm to 9pm with rosary at 7pm. Funeral mass was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church 721 Main Street, on Friday, May 13 at 12:30pm, with burial at Valley Public Cemetery 2445 E. Lake Avenue.
