Roberto Vazquez Castellon passed away on May 11, 2022. He was 65. Roberto was born to Salvador Vazquez and Maria Del Refugio Castellon in Jalisco, Mexico on August 3, 1956. In 1970, he moved to Watsonville, where he worked in agriculture, picking strawberries. Roberto met his wife Angie (43 years), locally. In 2014, he became his own boss and worked as a Grower for Aptos Berry Farms. Roberto’s hard work and attention to detail payed off and he was recognized as a “Top Grower” in Watsonville.
He enjoyed watching and attending sports games; especially his favorite teams; the Chivas and the 49er’s. Roberto also played on a local soccer team Club Jalisco, as well as passing on his soccer skills to his son and granddaughter. Roberto loved Spanish music, Banda, and Mariachi. He also enjoyed taking trips to the casinos on the weekends, with his wife Angie.
Roberto is preceded in death by his parents and sister Dalia Zenteno Vazquez. He is survived by his wife Angie Vazquez, 3 children; Vanessa Vaca (Genaro), Louie Vazquez (Paloma), and Anisa M. Vazquez, 3 grandchildren; Daniel Isaiah Barajas, Isabella Marie Escobar, and Sienna Vazquez, 8 siblings; Alfonso Vazquez Castellon, Maria Guadalupe Vazquez Castellon, Carlos C. Vazquez, Salvador Vazquez Jr., Ma Rosario Vazquez Castellon, Juan Antonio Vazquez Castellon, Maria Villegas Vazquez, and Maria Angelina Vazquez Castellon, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A visitation was held on May 18, 2022 from 5-9pm at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel. Mass was held on May 19th at 12 pm at St. Patrick’s Parish and burial followed at Valley Public Cemetery.
