Obituary

Sidney Carlton Anderson, age 78, passed away at Palo Alto VA Hospital on November 1, 2020. He was 78.  Sidney was born on February 11, 1942 to Walter and Lillis Anderson.

He grew up in the Charleston, South Carolina area and attended M. Rutledge Rivers High School. After graduation, He served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force beginning in 1962 which included one tour of duty in Vietnam and was Honorably discharged in 1970 at the Rank of E8, Senior Master Sargeant. After leaving the Air Force, he achieved title as a Master Electrician eventually operating his own business in Texas where he married and had 2 children. He came to California to work with his brothers, where he resided for 31 years.  Sid was a gifted craftsman and enjoyed exploiting his talents to help others. He is known in his community as a saint, guardian angel, hero, very honest, kind, generous, perfectionist, caring, goodwill, friendly, full of mischief, generous with time and talents. He never met a stranger. Sidney was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, and camping especially with his children and family.

He is survived by his daughter Karla Koch and her husband Duane Koch of Hurst, TX and his son Sidney C. Anderson, Jr., and grandson Shane Matthew Anderson both of Abilene, TX.  Also survived by his siblings, Mary E. Kennedy of South Carolina and Faye E. Ventre of New Jersey and Richard K. Anderson of South Carolina and Warren A. Anderson of California. He will be missed by many relatives and dear friends.
