Socorro B. Murillo died peacefully in her home on December 11, 2020 surrounded by her children. Born in Jalisco Mexico on August 2, 1944, she emigrated to Watsonville, CA where she lived for the last 44 years of her life.
She was a hardworking, optimistic, and nurturing woman who made her faith and caring for her family the focus of her life. While working in the cannery industry for 35 years she also took on jobs in the fields and sewing to solely raise her 6 children into successful adults. She was a devout Catholic and her hobbies included cooking and making her own clothes. She was also an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time with her birds, and her two canine friends who refused to leave her side even at the time of her death. Her family will be forever grateful for her legacy.
She is survived by her children Guadalupe Mendoza, Teresa Gonzalez, Lucia Ridlen-Gonzalez, Everardo Gonzalez, and Miguel Angel Gonzalez as well as 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and her brothers, Ramon, Trinidad, and Luis Murillo. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter Magdalena Gonzalez.
