Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend Sonja Erla Sims-Dickerson passed away of natural causes on January 10, 2021. She was 83 years old. Sonja was born on April 24, 1937, in San Francisco, California.
She graduated from Lowell High School in San Francisco and also attended San Francisco State where she played the flute in the Orchestra. Sonja spent her childhood summers in Ben Lomond and moved there permanently in the early ’70s. She traveled across the United States several times. Sonja took an interest in social media and the internet in her later years and was quite the button pusher. Sonja loved holidays, she was a creative, intelligent woman of many skills and abilities. She loved people and had many friends. She had a passion for the outdoors and loved to garden.
She is preceded in death by her son Russell Sims. She is survived by her husband Richard Dickerson, daughter Sanda Nichols, son-in-law Jim Nichols, grandchildren; Joseph and Jesse Sims, and Sherri Vorak, step-daughters; Julie Hughes, Cathleen Avery, and Terri Bloesch, six step-grandchildren; Megan Pennicks, Matthew Bloesch, Mallory Bloesch, Shireen Yarahmadi, Tony Yarahmadi, and Laura Hughes. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
