Virginia Ann Chaidez passed away on February 13, 2021. She was 63. Virginia was born on July 27, 1957, to Patricio Salcido and Roberta Martinez in Salinas, California. She made Castroville her hometown and then in 1991, moved to Watsonville. There she made a career caring for the elderly and disabled for IHSS and also had the passion to volunteer at Calabasas Elementary School and Loaves and Fishes. For the past 20 years, she devoted her life to her grand and great-grandchildren. She was an amazing bedtime storyteller that her children and grandchildren looked forward to hearing. She loved family gatherings, music and dancing, and taking walks throughout Watsonville. She enjoyed a good cup of coffee, some laughs, and a tall can. Virginia was a very loving, caring, selfless, generous, and kindhearted person. She is survived by her children; Leticia Salcido, Araceli and Mario Chaidez, and Felisa Garcia, siblings; David Salcido and Mary Zepeda, as well as 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
An outdoor, visitation will be held on March 6, 2021, from 1-8 pm at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel. No other services or burial to follow.
